‘Polish EU Presidency-Workshop’ – summary of the visit and workshop

On Friday 28 March 2025, our faculty hosted a delegation of representatives of ministries of education from European Union member states and a representative of the Europeana initiative. The visit was related to the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2025. The visit was accompanied by ‘the Polish EU Presidency-Workshop: Digital Competencies for Europe’s Future’ on digital humanities. The visit showed how universities, e.g. the University of Warsaw, can be a technological and scientific support for the education system in teaching digital competencies.

The meeting consisted of three parts:

2. Iga Bąska, MA (Faculty of History UW) led a workshop for students on creating digital editions.

3. Delegates had a discussion with representatives of our faculty and the Digital Competence Center UW, as well as with students from the General History programme and from the History of Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations.

Krzysztof Mordyński, PhD (the Museum of the University of Warsaw) gave guests a tour of the Main Campus UW.
